New setup to control and monitor bioprocess

A research initiative focused on algal biomass addresses the challenge of identifying growth phases and immobilizing cells in gel. Cultivating algae under controlled laboratory conditions is a critical step in this effort, as it ensures reproducibility, viability, and precise monitoring of physiological states. These controlled cultures can then be integrated into hydrogels for 3D bioprinting, enabling controlled oxygen release for biomedical applications. Additionally, the project requires an integrated set of equipment and software to monitor and control gas flow and maintain continuous parameter tracking.

We provided a comprehensive setup to run and optimize process, tracking parameters like pH, dissolved oxygen, and CO₂ levels and ensuring optimal conditions for both algal growth and productivity.

Optimizing algal bioprocesses requires much more than just the right equipment - it takes total integration of data, monitoring, and automation. With this project, our team leveraged QB Control to deliver a smart, efficient platform that makes predictive optimization not only possible, but intuitive for researchers.
